About InetDaemon
InetDaemon is my online identity and nome de plume. I'm a renaissance man--a polymath with specialties in multiple disciplines. I'm an Internet author, engineer, architect, instructor, philosopher, photographer and artist. I am at my most challenged when I'm learning new technologies and solving interesting problems.
Myers-Briggs: INTJ (scientist/architect)
Internet Author
Since 1996, I have written more than 800 tutorials for InetDaemon.com. My tutorials are read worldwide by over twelve million people each year. The number of readers keeps growing every day with no active marketing of the site. Organizations such as Microsoft, Wikipedia, HowStuffWorks, Wireshark, OpenBSD and others link to, or quote from my tutorials. The list of sites that point to InetDaemon.Com includes too many IT professionals and computer science professors and universities to count. Our list of readers includes engineers and professionals from the top telecom and network equipment manufacturers, defense contractors, terrestrial and wireless telecommunications carriers, financial investment houses, and more!
Engineer & Architect
InetDaemon has managed global BGP peering between the top 50 ISP's (that's heavy-weight Internet). He has designed and built entire enterprise infrastructures for medium to large organizations. He has performed requirements analysis, product development and project management. He has managed hardware, software and personnel through the entire IT life-cycle. He has expertise designing and implementing continuity of operations plans. He has built network operations systems to monitor and manage networks and servers of nearly all types and sizes.
I built my entire enterprise LAN from the ground up including custom built computers, servers, networks and Internet and systems security.
Not only do I architect data centers and computer networks, I am also working on sketches, blueprints and elevations for the dream home I will build one day. It will have a workshop, a classroom, a data center, a wine cellar, media hall and a commercial-grade kitchen. My dream home will serve as a bed and breakfast, a retreat, lecture hall and IT boot camp. It will be a place where I will be able to reach, teach, and learn for the rest of my life.
Instructor
Through my site, InetDaemon.Com, I have taught millions around the world about computers, networking, the Internet, telecommunications and security. I have headed up the training efforts at several organizations where I was hand-picked to mentor aspiring engineers. I am a certified IBM instructor and carry a number of professional certifications.
Photographer & Artist
I've been taking pictures for more years than I can recall and like everything else, I'm entirely self-taught. I started with nature and landscapes and I have moved on to other subjects and techniques over the years. I shoot in digital (raw). I use and recommend Canon equipment. I'll be adding a gallery soon so you can see some of the amazing places I've been and get a glimpse of how I see the world around me.
As an artist, I work in multiple mediums. I sketch in pencil, paint in watercolors and dabble with digital art and 3D rendering, as time allows. I also produce all the layout and graphics for this website.
