Textpad

All of the custom CGI development at InetDaemon.Com is in Perl.  I use Helos Software Solution’s Textpad for the majority of the CGI development I do for InetDaemon.Com.   Simple, quick and efficient, it has a block edit mode, the ability to sort lines within a file based on column values (a text editor that sorts like a spreadsheet) and compare files and has a ‘clipbook’ feature that lets me save bits of code and reuse it later.

Textpad has a macro capability to perform repetitive actions throughout one or more documents. It can perform search and replace through multiple documents. You can store your current set of open documents and options as a workspace and reopen the workspace later. Spelling check and the ability to match stored macros to keyboard strokes is a nice benefit as well.
