The Winner:  Google

Google passes the contextualization test, Google passes the user-friendlyness test, Google passes the revenue test.  Kontera consistently fails the test on multiple levels, and here’s why: Kontera’s contextualization is focused on finding keywords within the article that are related to each other–that is as far as Kontera contextualization goes.  There is a complete disconnect between the words in the article and the ads displayed by Kontera.  Kontera ads are NOT relevant to your content and this has a drastic adverse affect on your revenue.  To make Kontera work, you need to see what ads are most commonly being displayed and write articles completely out of your website’s subject area to make the content match the ad.    This is a situation of the tail-wagging-the-dog and Kontera needs to work on their contextualization, and to work on delivering relevant ads. Kontera fails to pull in significant revenue simply because nobody finds them relevant and nobody clicks on them.  You’re paid per click with Kontera.  Kontera makes a profit on impressions AND clicks while you get next to nothing in revenue. If you are looking for a quick and easy solution to generate revenue at your site, go with Google AdSense and just skip Kontera.
