The Macintosh Hard Drive

The hard drive is where all the computer data and the virtual memory information is stored. When you double click the hard drive, you get a view that looks something like this:

As can be clearly seen, the drive is full of folders which contain files. The title bar tells you which folder you are in, the status bar shows you how many items are in the folder and the size of the free space available.
