domainS

A Domain Name Service Domain is the concept of a group of names that have a part of their name in common. A domain is not a zone file or a configuration option in the server application, only an concept useful for discussing DNS issues. The term domain is often used incorrectly to refer to the actual name of a domain. The hosts whose names are four, three, two and one could belong to a single domain named beers-on-the-wall.org and their fully qualified names would be four.beers-on-the-wall.org, three.beers-on-the-wall.org, two.beers-on-the-wall.org, one.beers-on-the-wall.org [pfew!
