Exchanges

An exchange is a call switching center. Exchanges could be broken down into what types of calls they handle. Exchanges are the old "circuit-based" technology used before the telephone company went digital and began using packet switched networks. Today's systems make little distinction between where calls are connected through and where you're calling.
