Welcome to our CCNA Lessons Tutorial Series from InetDaemon.Com.  These lessons and tutorials are designed to be short and simple so you can study for your CCNA in less than 20 minutes a day.  Subscribe to our mailing list to get these posts in your mailbox every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The CCNA certification is the primary certification that managers look for when they hire Network Operations personnel.  According to GlassDoor.com, the median income for Network Engineers is just over $66,000 per year (2012), and more with a government clearance and a few years experience.   The CCNA exam is relatively inexpensive, and you can take the exam at any Cisco-authorized testing center. InetDaemon.Com has a full set of tutorials and guides to help you study for, and pass the CCNA are here at InetDaemon.Com.

The CCNA is your key to unlock  a future career in computers and networking.  Most CCNA’s who continue to learn and grow are earning more than $100,000 in just 8-10 years.  If they continue on to the CCIE, they can earn as much as $250,000.  The investment is fairly low and the payoff is extremely high, and Network Operations engineers are in high demand.  The CCNA may be one of the more challenging certifications in the industry because the exam presents with a multiple choice test, AND a real-world configuration and troubleshooting simulation.  You have to know quite a bit more than some memorized answers to pass this test.  If you’re willing to put in a few weeks of effort studying, and can pass the test, you’re on the road to a good-paying career.  It takes most people who are working full time about three months to prepare for this test, unless they are very serious about studying, or they work with Cisco gear on a daily basis.

Anyone studying for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), the CompTIA Network+, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and other certifications will need to know number systems such as binary, decimal and hexadecimal and how to convert between them.  They will also need to know the two primary reference models which describe how networks work. These powerful tutorials on network models will prepare you to rapidly learn the various technologies and network protocols that make networks ‘work’.  These two models are the OSI  Model and the TCP/IP Model.  You will be asked a few questions about the network models on the CCNA exam, and you will be asked to identify which functions occur at a given layer in the network model. You may be asked to identify which layer a  protocol operates in.  You will also be asked to compare and contrast the two models.  However, the trickiest part is that most of your networking questions will use these models in some way, directly or indirectly. You will need to know them well.  Since all networking is based on these network models, learning them first makes learning networking itself much, much easier.  Your brain isn’t designed to absorb new material quickly, but it is designed to add on quickly to something you already know.  So, if you spend a little time memorizing the network models, and understanding them, learning everything else becomes a lot easier.

I built InetDaemon.Com, to teach people computers, networking, routing and switching and internet security.  There are hundreds of powerful tutorials at InetDaemon.Com to help you rapidly acquire a complete understanding of computer data networking  so you can start your networking career making real money in just a few months of study in your off hours.  This CCNA tutorial series is your path to certification success.
