Hypertext Transport Protocol (HTTP)

Hypertext Transport Protocol (HTTP) is used to transfer web pages from a web server to a client web browser using TCP, usually on port 80, though this is not required. HTTP utilizes Multipart Internet Message Protocol (MIME) headers sent by the HTTP server to inform the client web browser what type of data it is receiving.
