DNS - DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM

Domain Name Service (DNS) is the means by which Internet domain names are translated into IP addresses, or IP addresses are translated into domain names. This protocol is necessary because we humans have trouble remembering numbers, so we let the computers handle changing the names we CAN remember into the numbers computers need to communicate with a remote computer.
